Haaaaappppy Friday. The weekend is nearly here, for most people anyway, mine is not, l am a day behind! Weekends run from Sunday to Tuesday here! And why not? I have exciting news, we can now sit on our patio! This may not seem like excitement to you, but after two years of living with a soil mountain taller than me, we finally moved most of it at the weekend..... and we have space! Yay! Space to put a table and chairs! We had breakfast on the patio, like civilised people. A little more of the builders yard look we have so carefully cultivated has been removed. The whole project still has a long way to go, but the end is actually coming into view.
And the end of this art project has been and gone. The kitten is finished and l have an exciting new project to share with you next. This is a very different piece for me as l chose to leave the background unworked, although the kitten has been drawn on an ice blue Stonehenge paper as there is so much white in there l thought it wouldn't show at all on white paper.
You can see a few of the colors that l used for the fur in this shot. It always amazes me how many strange colours that l end up using, and there are certain colours that seem to get into every picture - Faber Castell Caput Mortum (both shades), Caran D'Ache Supracolor Brownish Orange and Beige and Caran D'Ache Luminance Sepia 10% and 50% and violet grey. I always have several of each of these shades stocked up as l can't bear to be without them!
Below is the finished kitten and you can buy prints and gorgeous make up pouches and a fab weekender tote bag and even round beach towels from my shop now. I will put the link at the bottom of this post.
l also must not forget to remind you that l have added a guide to drawing these kitten eyes on my tips page so l will pop that link at the bottom of the page for you to. If your weekend starts tomorrow l do hope that it is a wonderful one whatever you are doing. I am off to exercise and then get back to working on my latest project so l will just wish you all lots of happy drawing!
